(I think I've missed the weekend recap 'window,' but holidays mess everyone up, right?)
By now, you may have gathered this little cabin is one of my favorite places. It's our second home and has always been a respite from our busy lives.
Special in so many ways, some defining characteristics include: a weathered, carefully-pieced-together dock, pine tree shutters hand-made by my dad, yellow linoleum counter tops (glitter included-meow) and lots of great vintage cabin accessories collected from up-north garage sales.
The lake is beautiful with its winding channels, hidden bays, and clean water. (I obviously can't appreciate city lakes when I've been spoiled with this). The woods host sweet smelling sappy pines, mossy carpets, and pepperings of birch and popple trees.
If I could swing it, I would without-a-doubt spend the entire summer here. (Who wouldn't?)
Dream on, dreamer! Until then, I'll be making lots of weekend trips. Happy Summer!
